Actually two grandmothers: One, the first German emigrant on David’s side of the family - Claire. The other created decades of happy summers and holidays for her grandaughter, Melissa, visiting her home in Fredericksburg. A few years later, owners David and Melissa met, fell in love and married in Fredericksburg.

Just a few short blocks from Melissa’s grandmothers home, Claire’s Haus was built in 1912. 100 years later, David and Melissa bought Claire’s and lovinging restored it as their own special getaway. Today they share Claire’s with others in the hope that their guests create their own special memories in Fredericksburg and Claire’s.
